Lifepoint Rehabilitation breaks ground on new rehabilitation hospital in Milwaukee

Lifepoint Rehabilitation has officially broken ground on a planned 58,000-square-foot rehabilitation hospital in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.

The new 40-bed rehabilitation hospital will be specially designed to create a therapeutic environment for patients and will be outfitted with leading-edge amenities and adaptive units, including a brain injury unit, multidisciplinary therapy gymnasiums, a specialized “activities of daily living” suite, and outdoor courtyards designed to promote patient ambulation and activity.

“We are excited to further expand access to rehabilitation care for patients as we break ground here in Oak Creek,” said Russ Bailey, president of Lifepoint Rehabilitation. “Providing high-quality, evidence-driven specialty care is the driving force in our work, and we are committed to investing in the people and technologies that will help us treat more medically complex patients close-to-home in southern Wisconsin.”

Lifepoint Rehabilitation’s stand-alone rehabilitation hospitals focus on acute rehabilitation and recovery for patients who suffer from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, complex neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, multiple traumas, amputation and other injuries or disorders.

The planned hospital will be located at 7840 South Highgate Avenue and is expected to open to patients next year. Upon completion, it will join Lifepoint Rehabilitation’s network of more than 45 inpatient rehabilitation facilities nationwide.
