PeaceHealth and Lifepoint Rehabilitation Expand Regional Recovery Care with Opening of New Springfield Facility
PeaceHealth and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, an operating division of Lifepoint Health, today held a celebratory ribbon cutting to officially open the PeaceHealth Springfield Rehabilitation Hospital. Located at 3555 Game Farm Road, the new facility expands regional access to specialized, patient-centered rehabilitation care for individuals recovering from a decline in function due to an injury or illness.
The 66,000-square-foot, two-story, state-of-the-art building features 42 private patient rooms with bathrooms. It is designed to serve more than 1,000 patients each year, with an average length of stay of approximately two weeks. The facility will provide intensive therapy for patients suffering from traumatic medical situations such as stroke, orthopedic injury, neurological diseases, brain or spinal cord injury, amputation, or deconditioning after a surgery or illness.
“This hospital is going to have an immediate, positive impact not just in Eugene and Springfield but throughout Oregon,” said Heather Wall, interim chief executive for the Oregon region. “It brings resources to the local community that will be life changing in the care they will now receive. Lane County residents will no longer have to travel out of state to get the treatment they need to help them recover from a range of injuries and the increased capacity means we’ll be able to support more of our community, too.”
Designed for specialized recovery, the facility offers dedicated neuro, stroke, brain injury, and amputation rehabilitation programs alongside private bariatric and dialysis suites. Patients benefit from advanced therapy gyms featuring robotics and augmented reality, a therapeutic outdoor courtyard, and a transitional apartment to practice real-world skills before returning home.
