Brian Sims named CEO of Lourdes Health

Lourdes Health has named Brian Sims as its chief executive officer (CEO), effective August 18. Sims, a veteran health care leader with more than 17 years of executive experience, brings a strong background in rural and community hospital leadership.

Sims most recently served as CEO of Lucas County Health Center in Iowa, where he focused on strengthening leadership, rebuilding organizational culture and supporting long-term workforce stability. Prior to that, he served as president and CEO of Good Shepherd Health Care System in Hermiston, Oregon, a regional hospital and clinic network serving a large rural population.

“Brian’s collaborative approach and proven leadership in similar communities make him a strong fit for Lourdes Health,” said David Elgarico, market president. “He understands the unique dynamics of rural health care and has demonstrated success in supporting clinical teams, engaging staff and improving the overall care experience.”

Throughout his career, Sims has led operational improvements, provider engagement strategies and quality initiatives that reflect his steady, team-oriented leadership style. He is known for building trust with employees and physicians, leading with transparency, and aligning teams around shared goals.

Sims is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He holds a Master of Business Administration in organizational development and a Bachelor of Science in human resources and finance, both from Upper Iowa University.

“I’m honored to join Lourdes Health and be part of an organization that’s committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care,” Sims said. “I look forward to working with our teams to support our patients, strengthen our services and serve the Tri-Cities community.”
