Lifepoint Rehabilitation and Texas Health Resources Break Ground on New Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital in Denton

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. and ARLINGTON, Texas (Nov. 17, 2025) – Lifepoint Rehabilitation, an operating division of Lifepoint Health, and Texas Health Resources officially broke ground on a new rehabilitation hospital in Denton, Texas. Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Denton was announced earlier this year and is anticipated to open in 2027.

The new inpatient rehabilitation hospital will be the fifth joint venture rehabilitation hospital serving the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The facility will be located at I-35 and West University Drive and have 40 private patient rooms.

“Texas Health is honored to be part of a project to bring increased access to care to the Denton community,” said DeShon Woods, vice president, Ambulatory Strategic Partnership Operations for Texas Health. “This new facility reflects our commitment to provide quality rehabilitation care to individuals navigating devastating illness and injury.”

The new free-standing facility will provide inpatient rehabilitation services for adults who have experienced a loss of function or disability due to stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological disorders, orthopedic surgery, amputation and other conditions. It will expand access to inpatient rehabilitation care in Denton County, addressing a growing regional need.

“This milestone not only represents our continued commitment to providing healthcare services for this community by adding beds, but also continues to bring specialized, integrated care that truly enhances the quality of life and independence for people who need it most,” said Russ Bailey, president of Lifepoint Rehabilitation.

Lifepoint Rehabilitation and Texas Health jointly own a network of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, including Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Worth, Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Keller, and Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Arlington, which is jointly owned by Lifepoint Rehabilitation, Texas Health Resources and Methodist Health System. In August 2024, Lifepoint Rehabilitation and Texas Health Resources announced plans to open an additional inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Plano, Texas in 2026.
