About this Position

Looking for additional BC/BE Pediatrician in a traditional inpatient/outpatient practice in northeastern Nevada. There are currently 4 FT Pediatricians and 1 NP in the area. The position will be hospital-employed with a competitive salary, full benefits, sign-on bonus, relocation assistance and student loan repayment, if needed. Expect to see approximately 20 patients per day. The schedule is M-F, 8AM-5PM in an office located in the MOB next to the hospital. Call is 1:3 with nursery coverage. The population is growing and it is younger than most cities, with a higher median income. There is low crime, above average schools and the area is the number one producer of gold in the U.S. This location can sponsor J1 visas.

Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital (NNRH) provides inpatient and outpatient services to residents of Elko County and the surrounding area. It’s 127,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility features 75 all-private acute care rooms. Physician practices are located in an adjacent medical office building. The hospital also serves as a teaching institution for the nursing program at Great Basin College and the residency/medical student program at the University of Nevada. As the only acute care hospital within a 200-mile radius, NNRH is an integral part of the Elko community.


The Community

Elko is located in the center of northern Nevada’s Great Basin on Interstate 80 and is the largest city between Salt Lake City and Reno. It is home to a community orchestra, convention center, theatrical group, community celebrations, eight city parks and a school district featuring seven elementary, four middle and two high schools, as well as an adult education program. The city also plays host to Great Basin College and the Western Folklife Center, which preserves and promotes the culture of the American West through performances, exhibits, workshops, educational programs and the world-renowned National Cowboy Poetry Gathering.

The region is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise, with abundant opportunities for winter sports, fishing, swimming and boating. Hikers can explore more than 100 miles of trails amid the towering Ruby Mountains at Lamoille Canyon. Humboldt National Forest’s two million acres offer wilderness areas, spectacular canyons and old mining camps. And the 37,632-acre Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge offers excellent bird watching and fishing just 65 miles south.
