    A group of medical staff from Raleigh General Hospital returns to West Virginia after a trip to Africa to change their healthcare system for the better. Dr. Herbert Oye, a surgeon at Raleigh General Hospital, along with other medical staff recently took a trip to Bayelsa, which is a state in Nigeria. On their trip, they volunteered their time to help the sick. They also educated doctors and nurses in that area.

    Minden Medical Center, a LifePoint Health facility in Minden, Louisiana, was the only hospital in Louisiana to make the Leapfrog Group's recent list of straight-A hospitals. The Leapfrog Group assigns patient safety performance letter grades to hospitals twice annually. Minden Medical Center is one of only 59 hospitals, and the only hospital in Louisiana, to earn an A in every update since Leapfrog scoring began in spring 2012.

WRMC CEO Richard Keddington said the new wing, which is set to open in fall of 2018, is designed for short inpatient stays of people 65 years and older.
