About this Position

Vaughan Regional Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE Pediatrician to join a traditional, hospital employed practice of three physicians and one nurse practitioner. The new provider will replace a tenured Pediatrician with a full practice who has relocated. There is a very strong patient base and excellent support staff in the practice. There will be a required hospital call (1/5), to include newborn nursery coverage. The Pediatricians do not attend c-sections unless OBGYN requests their attendance. A competitive compensation package will be offered including sign-on, relo assistance and student loan repayment assistance. Selma is located only 50 minutes from Montgomery, AL and a little over three hours from the white sand beaches of Gulf Shores

Vaughan Regional Medical Center serves Selma, Dallas County and the surrounding region. It provides a full array of patient-centered, community hospital and regional referral services at its 175-bed, Joint Commission-accredited acute care facility and physician practices. The hospital also partners with the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical School to provide the teaching environment for the UAB/Selma Family Medicine Physicians Residency Program and for Wallace State Community College nursing students.

Selma is home to the largest historic district in Alabama, with over 1,200 historic structures, palatial antebellum and Victorian homes, and museums. Century-old buildings that once housed warehoused cotton and Civil War munitions are now home to wonderful specialty shops, cafés and offices. A host of cultural activities are available for lovers of the arts, including the Selma Art Guild Gallery and the Walton Theatre. The city is also home to a vibrant educational scene, including public and private high schools, as well as Selma University, Wallace State Community College and Concordia College. Selma and Dallas County are a dream come true for the outdoor enthusiast. The Alabama River provides unlimited fishing, boating and water sports fun. The area boasts 12 commercial hunting organizations, offering opportunities to hunt buck, quail and turkey. There are two public golf courses in the area, and five Robert Trent Jones golf courses within a two-hour drive. The city also sports lighted baseball and softball diamonds, 20 hard-surfaced tennis courts and organized leagues in baseball, football, soccer, softball and tennis.
