Simon Ratliff Named CEO of Logan Regional Medical Center

Logan, West Virginia – (February 18, 2019) – Logan Regional Medical Center (LRMC) today announced that Simon Ratliff has officially been named chief executive officer (CEO), effective immediately. Ratliff has served in a dual role as the hospital’s interim CEO and chief operating officer (COO) since September 2018.

“Simon has demonstrated his ability to be an effective leader who is laser-focused on quality, high standards of service and putting patients first,” said Cherie Sibley, president of LifePoint Health’s Central Division, of which Logan Regional Medical Center is a part. “He has been an integral part of the hospital’s leadership team since he joined in 2016, and we are pleased to recognize his outstanding contributions with this well-deserved promotion.”

Prior to his time as interim CEO of LRMC, Ratliff served the hospital as COO for two years. Before this, he served in various leadership roles at several other LifePoint Health facilities, including Valley View Medical Center in Fort Mohave, Arizona; Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center in Somerset, Kentucky; and Spring View Hospital in Lebanon, Kentucky.

“As we conducted our search for the right person to lead the hospital forward, Simon quickly became the frontrunner because of his unwavering dedication to our mission of Making Communities Healthier,” said Kellie Wooten Willis, chairperson of LRMC’s board of directors. “He is passionate about serving the community’s health needs and achieving our vision of creating a place where people choose to come for healthcare, physicians want to practice and employees want to work. We are confident that he is the right person to step into this important role.”

Ratliff earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Midway University in Midway, Kentucky, and a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management from Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Kentucky. Notably, he has earned the esteemed Certified Professional in Patient Safety credential, which is the highest level of safety certification offered by the Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety.

“I’m thrilled to take on this new role as CEO of Logan Regional and continue the hospital’s legacy of excellence in serving our community,” said Ratliff. “The future is bright for the hospital, and I look forward to everything our talented team will accomplish together in the years to come.”
